The meeting moderator (Zoom user) prepares the virtual meeting room and invites the participants by sharing the web address of the meeting room. Participants have the ability to chat, see each other, share their screen, exchange messages, and even record their entire meeting on video.

The Webex service is provisionally free of charge and involves two-way videoconferencing with up to 100 participants at the same time without time restrictions. The meeting moderator is required to have an account in advance on the Webex platform. After connecting to the platform, one can create the virtual meeting room and invite the participants by sharing the web address of the meeting room. Participants do not need to have an account on the platform. They can connect to the conference call via the Webex application or through a compatible browser. Video recording is also provided.

This service is provided free of charge to members of the academic community and can be used by faculty members, researchers, postgraduate and undergraduate students, administrative and technical staff to organize and participate in videoconferencing with any of their associates. Conference participants (up to 250) can be connected either from their office or from their home, provided they have an adequate broadband internet connection, a web camera and headphones / microphones (the use of speakers is inadvisable due to noise interference). Participants can connect to the conference call by invitation of the organizer without having to install the Skype for Business software on their computer.

The e:Presence service is offered to the Greek academic and research community and enables its members to organize and conduct web conferencing of high quality and interactivity. e:Presence supports the conference meetings of all administrative bodies (Senate, Rectorate Council, Departmental Assemblies, Electorates, ...) with teleconferencing and fully complies with the requirements and specifications set out by the related Joint Ministerial Decision (ΦΕΚ 433/τ. B'/17-03-2011 [pdf]). Video conferencing can be accomplished either via personal computers (Microsoft Windows, Mac OS and Linux), or via mobile devices (Android and iOS), or via videoconferencing terminals (H323 and SIP). Video recording of sessions is not possible. The support of conference meetings through the e:Presence service eliminates travel costs for members of the institutions, while facilitating their work in cases of impossibility for physical presence.
