Following the decision made by the Technical University of Crete on 13/03/2020 to suspend activities of all Erasmus+ actions due to the coronavirus world pandemic, we would like to inform our academic community as well as our European and international partners regarding recent developments on the matter, taking into consideration the guidelines of the Hellenic Foundation of Scholarships (National Erasmus+ Agency) as well as the measures announced by the Greek Government for gradual restart of activities in the country.
With reference to the realization of the Erasmus+ programme by our institution in the future, the Technical University of Crete has decided tolift the suspension of all Erasmus+ actions starting on 01/07/2020, and to:
A. for the remaining period until the end of the academic year 2019-2020:
- to allow the restart of all pendingoutgoingstudent and staff mobilities with the approval of the host university/organization, under the condition that all necessary measures will be taken on the part of the beneficiaries to ensure their realization in safe terms, and according to updated guidelines of the Hellenic National Organization for Public Health (www.eody.gr) during the period of the scheduled trips. In case the situation in the host country does not allow the mobility with physical presence (e.g. due to suspension of air flights, the existence of extraordinary precautionary measures etc.), the beneficiaries will be able to start the activity remotely/online with the approval of the host university/organization, and to complete the mobility with physical presence abroad as soon as the situation allows it. The aforementioned provisions apply mainly to outgoing student traineeships and outgoing staff mobility for teaching/training.
- to allow the restart of all pending incoming student and staff mobilitieswith the approval of the supervisor of the traineeship or the host service of the university/organization where the mobility is scheduled to take place (laboratory or administrative service), under the condition that all necessary measures will be taken on the part of the beneficiaries to ensure their realization in safe terms, and according to updated guidelines of the Hellenic National Organization for Public Health (www.eody.gr) during the period of the scheduled trips. The aforementioned provisions apply mainly to incoming student traineeships and incoming staff mobility for training.
B. regarding the winter semester 2020-2021:
- to allow blended outgoing mobilities (mobility combining online activity and physical presence) student and staff outgoingstudent and staff mobilities, under the condition that the host university/organization accepts the mobility, that there will be no travel restrictions to/from the host country and that all necessary measures will be taken on the part of the beneficiaries to ensure their realization in safe terms, according to updated guidelines of the Hellenic National Organization for Public Health (www.eody.gr) during the period of the scheduled trips.
- to accept incoming mobilities for teaching (staff) and studies (students) only as virtual mobilities conducted online and to accept incoming mobilities for training (staff) and traineeships (students) with physical presence but each such application request will be considered and approved/dismissed on a case-by-case basis.
