    Περίληψη ομιλίας Prof. Zaid Albataineh:

    “Yarmouk University in Jordan”

This talk will provide an overview of Yarmouk University, one of Jordan's premier institutions of higher education. We will explore its history, academic programs, research initiatives, and contributions to the educational landscape of Jordan and the wider region.

    “Lecture on Massive MIMO Systems”

This lecture will delve into the fundamentals and advancements of Massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) systems. We will discuss their importance in modern wireless communications, particularly in the context of 5G and beyond. Key topics will include channel estima-tion techniques and hybrid beamforming.

Περίληψη ομιλίας Associate Prof. Faris Matalkah:

“Geopolymers: Green Concrete for Future Sustainable Infrastructures”

Considering the increasing use of construction materials in the past century, the necessity of using more sustainable, lower cost, and high-performance binders has been increasing, to meet the mechanical and durability properties of con-struction materials as well as the environmental requirements of the construc-tion industry. Geopolymers are proposed as innovative, eco-friendly construction materials. Geopolymer was first described in the 1970s as inorganic aluminosili-cate polymers that form solid ceramic-like materials at near ambient tempera-tures.The raw materials for the aluminosilicate can be a by-product such as nat-uralvolcanictuff/clayorindustrialby-productsuchasslagandcoalflyash.Geopolymeric-based binder offers distinct advantages over ordinary Port-land cement-based binders in terms of performance, environmental impact, and energy saving.

Dr. Zaid M. Albataineh, born in 1983 in Irbid, Jordan, is an accom-plished associate professor of electrical engineering at Yarmouk Univer-sity. He earned his Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from Michigan State University in 2014. Currently, he leads the electronic en-gineering department at Yarmouk University. Dr. Albataineh's expertise spans a wide range of topics, including wireless communication and RF integrated circuits. A senior IEEE member, he has also been actively in-volved in reviewing for international conferences and journals, and was the technical program chair for the IEEE MWSCAS 2021. His commit-ment extends to serving professional societies and committees at Yar-mouk University, and contributing to the evaluation of research pro-posals and manuscripts at various levels.

    Βιογραφικό Associate Prof. Faris Matalkah:

Faris Matalkah is an Associate Professor of Civil Engineering at Yarmouk University (Jordan). Dr. Matalkah received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Michigan State University (United States), and MSc, and BSc in Civil Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology (Jordan). He is the founder of the first American Concrete Institute (ACI) Student Chapter in Jordan at Yarmouk Uni-versity in 2019. Dr. Matalkah’s research interests include the devel-opment of sustainable, energy-efficient, and low-cost cementitious materials. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles in high-ranked journals in the field of cement and concrete, geopoly-mers, and ultra-high-performance concrete. Additionally, he serves as an associate editor in the journal of Emergent Materials.
