I’m writing you to let you know that we have just opened a position as Research Fellow as a part of the SMART-SED project, financed by Fondazione Cariplo. The project is aimed to model sediment transport in mountain rivers, and it is in collaboration with the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. As Department of Math we are collaborating in the mathematical modeling, numerical modeling and in the statistical analysis (data analysis and uncertainty quantification). The duration of the contract will be 12 months. The research activity of the Research Fellow will mainly regard the data analysis and uncertainty quantification of the numerical model.
Ideally, we are looking for profiles with a background in both Statistics and Numerical analysis. However, the range of profiles accepted for the selection is quite broad. PhD is not required to participate to the selection, even if it will constitute preferential title.
