Τίτλος Ομιλίας: "Function Monitoring over Distributed Data"
Abstract
Events of interest can often be detected by monitoring whether the value of a
potentially non-linear function, computed over the data collected by distributed
nodes, has exceeded a threshold. The idea of geometric monitoring has been
suggested to address such challending monitoring tasks. The main concept behind
the geometric monitoring approach is that each distributed site can safely
perform the function monitoring over an appropriate subset of the input domain.
In our talk we will first present an overview of the geometric method. We will
then present our work on how to extend the basic geometric monitoring technique,
as well as to how to apply it in a variety of distributed monitoring applications in
the fields of distributed data streams, sensor networks, as well as in
amplify-and-forward relay networks. The talk will conclude with future research
challenges in this exciting research area.
