The Research project, entitled: Uncertainty-aware intervention design for Mediterranean aquifer recharge, SUMMAR: Sustainable Managed Mediterranean Aquifer Recharge is funded by Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, for the period 2019-2021.
This research project aims to deliver a suitability assessment to select the most suitable locations for aquifer recharge providing long-term access to water, support farmers activities, and serve as a guideline for decision makers in similar settings throughout the Mediterranean region.
The project partners are the School of Environmental Engineering, Technical University of Crete and the UNESCO-IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, with scientific coordinators, Dr. Emmanouil Varouchakis and Dr. Gerald Corzo Perez, respectively.
