Evangelos Gidarakos, Emeritus Professor of the TUC School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering and President of the International Waste Working Group (IWWG), participated in the 9th International Symposium on «Energy from Biomass and Waste», which took place from 21 to 23 of November 2022 in Venice, Italy.
Prof. Em. Evangelos Gidarakos opened the Symposium, as President of the IWWG, which is one of the Symposium Organizers.
He also gave a keynote lecture on the 1st day of the Symposium, entitled "Never let a good crisis go to waste", focusing on the current energy crisis and its connection to the waste management sector, especially as far as the existing possibilities on energy recovery from waste are concerned.
Finally, he participated in a round table discussion on thermal waste treatment and presented a scientific project on "Microwave hydrothermal carbonization of rabbit manure" with Ph.D. candidate Mr. Ioannis Moukazis.
