On Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at 14:00 an open lecture titled "The role of landfilling in Circular Economy Strategies" will be delivered via videoconferencing by Professor Emeritus of the University of Padua (Italy), Mr. Raffaello Cossu, who will focus on the connection of landfilling to circular economy, an approach that is characterizing modern waste management strategies.
Prof. Raffaello Cossu is the co-organizer of the CRETE - Industrial and Hazardous Waste Management conference, which is successfully held in Chania by the Technical University of Crete (TUC) every two years since 2008. He is also a founding member of the IWWG and a liaison of the organization with the Technical University of Crete, contributing to the development of close collaborations and the dissemination of the TUC's actions in matters of waste management abroad.
This lecture is the third in the "Food for Brain" series organized by the International Waste Working Group (IWWG) under the Presidency of Professor Emeritus of the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering of the Technical University of Crete, Mr. Evangelos Gidarakos. It is a series of monthly online lectures on hot waste management topics. The lecturers are international specialists working in universities, research centers or companies.
