On Wednesday 21st of September 2022 at 5pm CEST (6pm EEST), AXA Research Fund and AXA XL organise an online masterclass with Dr. Apostolos Voulgarakis, who is Associate Professor with the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering and AXA Chair in Wildfires and Climate at the Technical University of Crete (TUC).
Wildfires are one of the most poorly understood "players" in our Earth system. While not all fire is bad, there is a rapid increase in devastating wildfires worldwide. On the occasion of the launch of the AXA Chair in Wildfires and Climate at the Technical University of Crete, Dr. Voulgarakis will present the main challenges that science and society face regarding future wildfires and how fires can shape our climate in the decades to come.
