On Nov. 21, 2020, in honor of the TUC Laboratory of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering (GeoMatLab), a video was shown in the context of the US-European Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich ocean-monitoring satellite launch, from Vandenberg Air Force Base, California.
Part of the video shows the research work of the GeoMatLab Team, headed by TUC Professor Stylianos Mertikas, for the ESA's Permanent Facility for Altimetry Calibration in West Crete and Gavdos Island.
The Sentinel-6 Michael Freilich spacecraft begun a five-and-a-half-year prime mission to collect the most accurate data yet on global sea level and how our oceans are rising in response to climate change.
