Professor Markos Papageorgiou was awarded the National Award and the Gold Metal 2018 by the Hellenic Operational Research Society in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of Operational Research.
The awards ceremony was held on the occasion of the 7th International Symposium & 29th National Conference on Operational Research, which was co-organized by the School of Production Engineering and Management of the Technical University of Crete and the Hellenic Operational Research Society (HELORS), at the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, Crete, Greece, June 14-16, 2018.
After the ceramony, Professor Markos Papageorgiou delivered a speech entitled "Traffic Management for the 21st Century".
