Professor Euripides Petrakis of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) of the Technical University of Crete (TUC) was honored with the Best Paper Award at the 38th International Conference on Advanced Information Networking and Applications (AINA-2024), held in Kitakyushu, Japan, from April 17 to April 19, 2024, for the paper titled "DeFog: Adaptive Microservice Scheduling on Kubernetes Clusters in Cloud-Fog-Edge Infrastructures", co-authored by Athanasios Prountzos (TUC ECE graduate) and Prof. Euripides G.M. Petrakis.
The paper was accepted after a full article review. The AINA conference is an international IT conference with over 900 submitted papers per year and an acceptance rate of 25%. It is classified (based on international evaluation systems) in category A2, i.e. among the best conferences internationally.
At the same time, Prof. Euripides Petrakis received an honorable mention for his many years of contribution as General Co-Chair of the conference.
