On the 13th of June 2016, the Administration of the Technical University of Crete had the honor of hosting a Chinese Delegation of eminent representatives of Guangxi University, following several contact meetings between TUC and the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Hellenic Republic of Greece.
The Rector of TUC, Prof. Vassilios Digalakis, the Deputy Rector of Academic Affairs and Research, Prof. Elia Psillakis and the Vice-President of the Council, Prof. Nikolaos Kalogerakis, met the following members of the Chinese Delegation:
• Professor Zhao Yanlin, President
• Professor Lu Shanyong, Dean of Graduate School
• Professor Feng Qingge, Dean of the College of Environment
• Mr. Yu Yunyu, Deputy Director of the Office of President
• Mr. Li Jiajun, Deputy Director of International Exchange Department
During the official meeting, an Agreement was established between Guangxi University and the Technical University of Crete, to jointly apply for the establishment of a Confucius Institute at TUC and to promote bilateral cooperation in education, research and culture on an international scale.
The agreement was founded on the principle that the parties concerned have an interest in establishing collaboration on education and research related development activities. The Agreement was signed, by the President of the Guangxi University, Prof. Zhao Yanlin and the Rector of TUC, Prof. Vassilios V. Digalakis.
