Assistant Professor Dimitris Angelakis delivered an invited talk in the largest international annual conference in physics, the "American Physical Society March Meeting", which took place on 20 March 2013 in Baltimore, USA. The speech titled "From Mott transitions to interacting relativistic theories with light: A brief history of photonic quantum simulators" was delivered within the framework of a "special invited session" that was dedicated to quantum simulators with photons, a new research field founded, among others, by D. Angelakis. The aforementioned conference is attended by approximately 10.000 physicists from all over the world, including about 30 parallel sessions and only a few number of invited speakers.
