Mr Panagiotis Partsinevelos and Mr Emmanouil Varouchakis, Professors at the School of Mineral Resources Engineering (MRED) and George Petrakis (PhD candidate), offered an advanced summer workshop on novel topics in Geoinformatics for the Americal Association of Geographers, that was organised by the American Association of Geographers. The virtual workshop took place between May 23rd and June 3rd and it was part of the Series of Advanced Workshops by AAG for the summer of 2022.
The particular workshop gave the opportunity fo internations Master and Doctoral Students, mainly from the USA (University of California, University of Michigan, University of Georgia, University of South Florida, etc) to develop their skills on recent research advances on Geoinformatics including Uncrewed Aerial Systems, Earth observation, Space-time data processing and Deep Learning.
