The 9th German-Greek-Polish Symposium on “Recent Advances in Mechanics” was organized by the Hellenic Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics and the Technical University of Crete, at the Orthodox Academy of Crete, September 4-9, 2016.
The GGP takes place every three years in one of the participating countries. The symposium was initiated in 1991 and has become an institute since then. In each symposium 15 distinguished scientists from each country present their recent research activities in the field of Mechanics. The contributions are of highly scientific level. The goal of these meetings is to exchange scientific knowledge and experience as well as to initiate and continue new and existing cooperation and friendship between the participating people. In view of the integration within Europe this becomes more and more important.
The 9th German-Greek-Polish Symposium was locally organized by the Technical University of Crete and took place in Kolymbari, Chania, Greece, hosted by the Orthodox Academy of Crete
