Περίληψη

A welding engineer plays a critical role in modern industry by ensuring the quality, safety, and efficiency of welding processes across various sectors, such as manufacturing, construction, automotive, and aerospace. A qualified welding engineer should have knowledge and experience in welding, metallurgy, materials science, engineering, and industrial manufacturing. Through their expertise in welding techniques, materials science, and process optimization, welding engineers help minimize material consumption, reduce energy use, and enhance the durability of products. By developing sustainable welding practices, such as reducing emissions and incorporating eco-friendly materials, they contribute to the circular economy, ensuring that production processes align with environmental sustainability and responsible resource management.

Βιογραφικό

Tomasz Poloczek is an Assistant Professor in the Welding Department at the Silesian University of Technology. In 2017, he completed his master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Welding Technologies, and earned the title of Master of Science in Engineering. To broaden his expertise, he completed courses for International Welding Engineer (IWE) and International Welding Inspector (IWI) certifications. He further developed his skills in Non-Destructive Testing, obtaining certifications in Visual Testing (VT2), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT2), Penetrant Testing (PT2), and Radiographic Testing (RT2). In 2017, he began his doctoral studies at the Welding Department of the Silesian University of Technology, graduating with distinction in 2023. He is the author of 52 publications (with a total Impact Factor of 26.73).
